Realities of a Foodie started as an idea during the COVID pandemic to review the foods that influencers recommend or rave about on social media. I was a student stuck in the UK by myself with little to do to kill time apart from playing video games, watching YouTube and cooking different foods. I started to watch travel vlogs and food reviews and would take note of restaurants and eateries in London that were within budget, and plan to try them out when I got the chance. Watching reels and YouTube videos about all these amazing food made me wonder if they were actually that amazing or was it done for the views.

Eventually like everyone else, I was quarantined when I returned home for 14 days in a confined room. Luckily for me, I was placed in hotel with meals provided. Amidst the boredom, I decided to document every meal for the 14 days -including any takeaways ordered by myself - and rate them for my friends on Instagram.

Fast forward 4 years into the future, I have done absolutely nothing with this idea and finally decided to embark on this small blogging journey. I thought to myself, maybe I could try to shed some subjective light on food instead of the usual “OMG it’s great you must try it if you’re in XXX!”
